I'm guessing you don't consider a chicken a 'harmless, innocent and defenceless creature'

My family use to raise chickens when I was a little girl. I helped to prepare them for dinner. The plucking was the worse.

And yes chickens are VERY mean. I hated having to go get the eggs. Those li'l beaks are very hard and accurate.

Yup, I'm a country girl. :D

I remember my dad trying to kill a hog with a .22  :p He was standing point blank aiming right between the eyes and pow!.... Nothing. The hog just looked at him. Then, POW, POW, POW....Still nothing. Finally he just bopped him in the head with a sledge hammer...:(

Hogs are VERY mean. We didn't have any of those. We had chickens, geese, ducks, and rabbits. We only consumed the chickens. The geese are for protection, and the rabbits were pets.

If you were hungry and had a gun, would you shoot one?

I recently saw a fascinating program about pigs. I learned that domesticated pigs are genetically identical to wild boars, yet they tend to grow smaller with light, thin hair and small tusks and aren't nearly as aggressive. However, if a domesticated pigs escapes into the wild, its appearance changes dramatically within a matter of weeks. Its hair grows in coarser and thicker, its tusk grow longer, it gets larger and it becomes more aggressive. I had never heard of such a dramatic physical change in an animal like that.

The very same thing happens to Republicans when released into the public domain
