Hello, Tess darlin'! I am passably well, thank you for asking. I was just reminiscing about how this site used to be, y'know, fun and stuff and people were nice to each other and we had a good time. Should us female-type creatures start our own forum where we would pay attention to what each other says?

Basic? Non-existant rather. I don't recall you ever answering the charge of being a hypocrite for shrilly demonizing gun owners in the US when you yourself carry an illegal weapon for the purpose of self defense:

For the record it is illegal to carry any weapon (like a knife) in the UK, therefore I do not carry one.

Had you studied my post more clearly, you would see I discussed that if the scenario arose, I would rather wear a leather jacket and carry a flick knife than wear a poofterish pink outfit. I didn't say I carried an illegal weapon.

Obviously if I was in the USA, I would be armed to the teeth with guns and knives as it's part of normal life there and a necessity.

Changing the intent of the words after the fact doesn't change their meaning. There were no hypothetical qualifications for your preferred outfit in the original post, and a knife was part of the ensemble. However, one has to wonder at your determination to convince anonymous online posters of your butchness...I'm sure your longtime male defender and compatriot Rich could convince any who doubt of your affiliations...

I didn't, I merely stated that I wouldn't wear a pink outfit - the chances of getting beaten up are high, [given that scenario] I would rather have a leather jacket and a flick knife [in order to lessen the chances of unplanned plastic surgery]

Hello ladies. I do appreciate your being here. You don't usually see me posting in The Watercooler, especially to a hijacked thread. I hear what you are saying about the sad state of this forum. As you can see from my join date, I have been a member here a long time and have enjoyed the good ole days. It is sad to see a great forum like this being hijacked by a few angry folks. I do apologize for continuing this rant and this will be my last post on this thread. I just couldn't take Rich's ignorant comments anymore without saying something.

"Are you from...?" can mean, "do you live there?", "were you raised there?", "were you born there?", "is that the organization to which you belong?","is that the influence that shapes your current line of reasoning?" etc...in short, it can mean a lot of things. If you require specific data, be specific in your request. Don't use imprecise regional colloqialisms if you expect to be understood by an international audience.
