Hello everyone!
In my office we have multiple databases to keep information on registering students through our different programs. Myself and the senior secretary here (I am the Student Worker) are trying to do some work on changing a few aspects of a form in one of the aforementioned databases. A few days ago, we opened the db on her computer and she went over some of the changes we need to make on the form within. When I went to open the same db on my computer (we are connected through a network), it shows the following icon next to the file name:
I tried opening the db, and it will not open. However, if I load Access itself, then open the db through it, it opens just fine. It just won't open by double-clicking on the db itself.
We both use Microsoft Access 2007, so I didn't think it was an issue with the format it was saved in, but perhaps I am wrong. We re-opened the db on her computer and re-saved it in 2002-2003 format, and it will open on my machine that way, but now I want to know why it won't open in 2007 format!
Any suggestions? Much thanks!
===EDIT!!!===
I forgot one other thing. We noticed a strange thing had been added to the db. There is a new table titled MsyCompactError. When opening the table, there are 4 columns. Column one is titled, "ErrorCode" and contains "-3831" in its record. Column two is titled "ErrorDescription" and contains "The current file format no longer supports user-level security. The conversion or compaction process has removed any user-level permissions." within its record. Column three is titled "ErrorRecid" and its record is empty. Column four is titled "ErrorTable" and its record contains "MSyACes". I tried looking this error up online, but could not find anything. What is all this??? Thanks again!
