Hello Everyone,
I've been an Access programmer/trainer since version 2 with a large UK company.
The company offered a very good voluntary redundancy package and I decided to accept.
I'd now like to offer my skills to small local businesses and have already supplied a few with Access applications.

I want to retain ownership/Intellectual Property Rights of the programs that I write i.e. supply programs on a 'licenced' basis.

Does anyone know of a website that offers good advice on this and maybe sample contracts?

Thanks

Hello, Clipper,

Generally speaking, if you write programs as an employee of the Company, using Company resources, the Company retains IP/Ownership of the code. If, however, you write programs as an independent contractor, with the Company as your Customer, and using your own resources, you retain IP/Ownership of the code. I recommend that you consult an attorney in your area regarding the applicable laws regarding software IP.
