I have a field in a record which contains the text string
"BTR Consumer E2E Template"
which I do not want the query to bring back. In fact any record which contains the word "Template" any where in that fields I do not wish returned

I have entered - Not Like "*Template*" in the criteria box hoping it would do the tick but it still brings back the above record.

Any help will be appreciated.

No just a normal text field

You mean the criteria box in the query design grid? If so that should work.

If you mean a parameter prompt that pops up when you run the query or a text box on a form, that won't work without a bit of tweaking.

Do you have any other criteria?
Criteria on another row creating an OR condition could negate your efforts.

You could create another field

xyz: IIf([abc] Like "*template*","Template",Null) and use Is Null for the criteria on that field

Sorry the field is a memo field does that make a difference

Yeah, I don't think you can search them...

Edit: I mean you can't use the string functions on them.

IIF works for me on memo in A2003 as above

Not Like "*Template*"

in the criteria works for me, so don't think that is the problem.
