I posted this on the Reports board, but now I am thinking this is probably more of a query question.
I have not developed any database yet, but I am preparing. I will have a table that contains test number, date tested, test answers and test scores for every subject. Each subject will take the test 3 times at different times of the year. For those who do not pass test #2, a retest will be administered up to 3 times, so each person can have anywhere from 3-6 test scores. This leads me to my question.
At anytime during the year, I want to be able to create a report that tells me how many people passed the first time, how many people retested once and passed, how many retested twice and passed, etc.
I am thinking that I will take the table and subset only on those who took test#2 and all of the retests using test number. Then I will sort by highest test number for each person. I then want to keep the record with the highest test number giving me one test number per person. Then I will do a simple frequency table in the report. The only problem is I don't know how to keep the highest test number for a given person so the person now only appears once in the new table or query. Any ideas are appreciated.
