Hi,
I have designed a db to record where and how certain pieces of equipment are stored and setup. The db is based on serial numbers etc. The basic equipment consists of a "Panel" (a big box to contain the equipment) and electronic cards. The cards can be setup in varying ways (configuration) and also placed in certain "slots". I have designed the db to accomplish all my needs and to record testing of the equipment.
If a user enters data about a piece of kit (such as a certain card with a specific serial number being associated with a particular slot in a particular panel)- If the card were to be changed (or configuration of it) /used in a different panel , how could i set the db to record any changes made. This would be effectively creating a history log (using tables etc) of what changes have been made to elements of the db.
Can this be done?
Thanks
Ian
