Hello

Does anybody know how I can use the same report format but use a different table to have that report be presented?

I have one table and one report. I will be adding a couple other tables, but still using the same report design. Can I copy and paste the report and somehow change from which table the report is reading the data?

Thanks!

Sure, just change its Record Source after you copy it. You could even just have one report, and change the record source in the open event as appropriate.

I'd be curious what the different tables held though, since having identical tables is often a sign of a design problem.

also - why isn't this based on a qry?? rather than a table

all the tables have the same column headings. how can i use the query to help out?

But why are there 3 tables, if they hold the same things?

oh no. same column headings. but each table has a different month's worth of data (i.e. May, June, July). the data cells are all different.

As suspected, that's a design problem. If you search here on normalization, you'll find all kinds of discussions. Your data should be in one table with an extra date field to denote which month it is. How are you going to run a report for the whole year? As Gary noted, it's more common to base reports on queries, and one of the reasons is you can add criteria to restrict records. In this case, one table, one report and one query let's you run reports for May, June, this year, last year, whatever.
