i need to have a web page that accesses my database, i have created a page (in access 2000) but i need to set up a text box with code behind it which someone can enter some data in it and it finds the record.

You could use a combo box on the DAP to look through the records. To create a combo box that is tied to your records left click and drag the combobox from the toolbar to the DAP and a wizard will open from there so that you can link it to your data.
