When I am viewing a form and click in a field and select the text (so it is highlighted) the vertical parts of some letters e.g. J l k t etc show elements of red and other colours making the highlighted words difficult to read.

This is occurring in an Access 2007 database running on XP (it is not showing different colours in the highlighting in Vista or W7).

(This is an issue for a client of mine).

Anyone know the cause of this? Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Are you sure it's not something that is related to the screen being used rather than the application?

Anything is possible, but I can see no way that this could possibly be an Access issue. I think it's either PC dependent, probably an issue with the Video card/driver, or OS dependent, and I really doubt the latter.

I'd try the app on another XP box and see if the problem repeats. I suspect that it won't.

Thank you for your replies. Yes I tend to agree with you however our client advises this occurs on all their computers.
We have tested the Access app on our one XP test machine in our office and it occurs, so it does point to perhaps an XP issue...

My first suspicion would be that 'Cleartype' text display setting thingy. The fonts used have different coloured pixes on curves and suchlike to smooth out the viewing on LCD screens.
