Showing SubReport after end of SubReport

Hi,

I have a report (called “ReportA”) which is connected to a query, the query only shows products from “Supplier A”.

The report is designed to show the details (such as “name” and “price”) of the products listed. So if the query returned 20 products from “Supplier A” then they are listed down the page, like this….

[Name] [Price] <(This line is in the header section, the rest is in the details section)>
ProductA £12
ProductB £15
ProductC £35
ProductD £24
ProductE £19
ProductF £34

My problem is this…

I have another query that calculates the totals of the above products. I have it connected to a report called “subReportA”. I’ve dragged and dropped the “subReportA” into the main report, however the output of the main report now looks like this:

[Name] [Price]
ProductA £12
Total: £139
ProductB £15
Total: £139
ProductC £35
Total: £139
ProductD £24
Total: £139
ProductE £19
Total: £139
ProductF £34
Total: £139

I only want “subReportA” to show once after the last product, not after each product.

I think I am right in thinking that the total can be calculated on the report itself, without using the actual query/subreport – but when I did a quick test it still replicated itself like above so I didn’t follow it any further.

I then tried putting the subreport in the footer – it worked, however it looks very unprofessional when the report lists only one product at the top of the page, and the total is way down at the bottom of the page (so there is a massive expanse of space inbetween). Or when the list carries over onto two or three pages and the total of the whole order is shown in the footer at the bottom of each page.

I then tried to change the report so the product list was shown on one subreport, and the totals were shown on another subreport – but it still lists the total after each and every product – rather than once after the final product.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get my report to look like the following?

ProductA £12
ProductB £15
ProductC £35
ProductD £24
ProductE £19
ProductF £34
Total: £139

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Dean.

I've managed to solve it in the end by creating the report in design view rather than using the wizard. Just dragged and dropped the two reports into a blank report and it now works fine.
