I had to sign on this session, the first time since I don't know when and I didn't earlier today, had to scratch the old brain to remember the password..

Any reason why this happens?

Brian

Did you clear your cookies/cache? This throws out the session and thus prompt you to sign in again.

I saw similar behavior today. I clicked on a link to another thread in the forum and it said I wasn't logged in on the thread window. I don't ever really log off/close IE so it hasn't done it in my "main" window yet.

Oh, yeah. That one was a bit unusual. I am not sure why when one clicks a "Single View Post" or anything else which may open a new windows, it's unlogged. Maybe the browser gets confused and think it's a separate session?

BTW, this is true of any vBulletin forums, FWIW.

Thanks for the resonses, I hadn't done anything different, I had run Ad aware between sessions but thats a normal event, the one difference is that it asked if I wanted to update the software, I said yes then the uninstal of the current release failed, a problem I haven't looked at yet , but the old release appeared to run as normal.
I will keep a check on it when I get time.

Mmm. I always have to sign on...only now I discover that's the exception...

Ahh there was a new message on the login about tags to other sites --
could of been a 1 time thingy ( and that promoting bsiness would be treated harshly ?

might of been it

You had to scratch your brain because you did not remember the cleaver password you assigned to your signon to access the forum ;)

It could be worse, imagine having to sign on over and over again with 28k dialup
