I am currently using MS Access 2010 (Beta) which I am assuming is similar to the 2007 version. In earlier versions I could re-size forms for the final release version by dragging the form to the size I want or manually changing the width, height etc properties. In the newer versions there soes not seem to be a way of doing this. The attached graphic hopefully demonstrates what I mean. Does anyone know how I can either size or get rid of the redundant space to the right of forms in these newer versions?

I think you may be talking about the new "Tabbed" document style that was implemented with the release of 2007 and is carried over into 2010.
You can change this view/look and the ablility to change the size of the form window by clicking on the large round Office button at the upper left of Access and then click on the Access Options button at the lower right of that form. In the Access Options dialog box, click on the "Current Database" option on the left side. From the options presented, locate the "Document Window Options" and uncheck the "Display Document Tabs" check box and then select the "Overlapping Windows" option. Close this dialog box. You will be prompted that you need to close and reopen your database file for your changes to take effect.
When you reopen your database you will notice that now you have individual framed windows for each object.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated thank you. For your information and future reference the large round office button no longer is a default view. Instead in 2010 it seems to have changed to a tabbed option alonside other ribbons - called file, with the options menu item down that list. Again thank you I would have never found this on my own.

Thanks for the info. I have not started running the 2010 version of Acces yet. I am just relying on what I see and hear others say. I do appreciate the insite and will make note of the changes.

I suppose the first thing to say (admit) is that until trying 2010 (Beta) the latest version of Access I have used was 2002. On the negative side: - The new layout is therefore quite a challenge in terms of the learning curve. Personally I don't like Microsoft's new ribbons. I think they are cumbersome and not particularly user friendly to users of earlier versions. I have tried to asked Microsoft questions through their Support option (including both the Office Help and Contact Us options) but I have found the first quite difficult to follow and the Contact Us is met with stony silence - so not much comfort there. There are more wizards but again I am not personally a fan of wizards and frankly for beginners if they get stuck I think trying to undo wizard work will cause them more problems than not. That said I suspect they are popular with some. On the positive side I do like the general layout (other than ribbons) more than the earlier versions and I suppose now that I am getting used to the ribbon feature it is not so daunting. All that said I would like to be able to build menus (like the older versions and like normal windows software). Also I would very much like to be able to distribute like a normal piece of software - but then I suppose you can't have everything.
General view is that I will stick with it for the time being and see where we go. Hopes this is not too negative.

I don't think you are just being negative. I think yor are really trying to be straight up honest with your opinions. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. When I first started using 2007, I must admit that I had some of the same issues you have mentioned, however, the more I use it the more I come to dislike it.
I am just waiting in the wings for see how the Sharepoint thing works out. I do not currently have any clients (that I know of) that are migrating to 2010 so I do not have any urgency to move in that direction.
