I'm looking for advice as to the best way to transfer records from an SQL Server database. I need to compare and dedupe an Sql Server database that has approximately 300K records. I have MSDE installed on my machine, but I don't have Enterprise Manager. It is requested that I don't work "live" in the database.

Should I have the DBA export all the tables to Access?
or
Should I have the DBA export to another format like FoxPro and then connect via ODBC?
or
Is there a way to restore an SQL Server .bak to MSDE without Enterprise Manager? If so, would that be any more efficient than Access or FoxPro?

Thanks,
Sup

Hi Sup,

Long time no see ...

Your best choice is to have the DBA export the tables to Access.
Not the links, the tables.

Then you'll have the best control over things and you'll be
comfortable in an Access environment. From there you have
a lot more possibilities.
