I noticed when posting a reply that it was post number 999996 so thought I would commemerate post number 1000000 with this thread.

I'm not sure which number the first post was so not sure how many actual posts there have been but it seemed worth remarking upon in here.

So happy one millionth post to AWF?

That is the post ID number (hover over the number on the top right of any post - there is a number listed for each - like 1, 2, 3, etc. If you put your mouse over the link it will show you the actual post ID which is an autonumber and it is now well over 1 million.

Now, if you look on the front page you will see the current number of posts. But that is not correct either because it doesn't count those that have been removed (spam and all) whereas the post id counts those too. However, the post ID is not right either because the site was hacked many years ago (approx 2000 or 2001) and everything started over from scratch.

Aha - and 54.

Cheers

Nope, 55. You fail. :p

I wonder if we are really at 1,000,000 or would have had more if it weren't for the posts we lost years back or upgrades that have been made to the forum. I know that the number wouldn't have a way to start over, but it doesn't mean that there wasn't some sort of glitch involved.

The first postnumber i can find 10,001 so we may actually be another ~10,000 posts away.

I was working with some Twitter data last month and found their incremental identity Tweet value was at 22,205,918,562

The usual 32 bit signed integer didn't cut it on this occasion :p
