The abs function

Hi!
I would like to know how to make the abs function show if the abs value is negative or positive.
Right now it automatically switches from negative to positive, I want to see if the abs value is negative.

The ABS value is always POSITIVE.
Elementary math:

|X| =  X for X >= 0
      -X for X  < 0

How are you using the ABS function? And, as Mihail says, ABS gives the absolute value which is always positive. If you need to see whether it is positive or negative you will need to use the original field before applying the ABS function.
