That was almost commercial compared to most of his output

As you didn't like that song, keep well clear of his 'masterpiece' album Trout Mask Replica.

Nope. This has turned out to be more difficult than I thought. I gave a Clue in my last post.
The band has been around since about 1968, having a few lineups. Over 20 studio albums, about 14 live albums. Hall of Famers. About 12 platinum and 11 gold records (depending on the country)...

For the past 72 hours I've slept only 6 hours. Starting from yesterday, Japan has a week long holiday. We call it Golden Week.
I'll be working during this Golden Week too. I just cheated and used what the others had guessed.

I wouldn't put it that way. Given that we're all from around the world, music knowledge can be regional so it may make guessing more difficult. Besides, I think the goal here is to solve a puzzle, not prove that you already know something. At least that's my take on the name of this game.
