Hi All

I have been working on this db for awhile now, and I have a few issues that I cant seem to resolve.
so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

here goes.......

I have 2 toggle boxes
first one is to indicate that a letter needs creating
and the second indicates that it then needs printing, when the first toggle is clicked on.

(I use toggle boxes so I can keep track of what letters have been created and which ones have been printed)

These letters rely on the property it relates to (name of building)
and will atomatically update to the current status when future entries with the same property are entered.

The problem is when I click on the print letter and it update's all relevant entries, it does not update to the current status, when a new entry is made with the same property
it displays the needs printing toggle button again.

To make matters worse, the property details are not stored in the main table.

It's retrieved this way " =[JobNo].[Column](1)"
this is taken from a combo box that stores the job no's and the property it relates to.

I will post a copy of the db if nobody has a clue what I'm on about............lol. (story of my life)

this is very difficult to explain but it probably has a simple solution.

thanks to any helpers out there.:)

Groundrush,

as I said in my reply to your private message, maybe someone with more experience than I can help you out. Frankly, after I looked at your DB, I'm lost as to where to start. :o

sorry I couldn't help

Try using " =[JobNo].Column(1)"

Just to make sure: Column(1) is the SECOND column! where Column(0) is the first!

I think I need to do something like:

If me.FirstActionPrinted=True then.............

it's the after the then part I am having problems with

I need to somehow use the " =[JobNo].Column(1)" to get the property name that the record relates to

so when ever a record is created that is linked to the same property that already has a letter created and printed, it will automatically update the FirstactionPrinted field.
