i havent watched it.. thats why im asking

I think if you liked any of the XMEN then you will enjoy the Transformers...

...I just cant wait until it LEGALLY comes out on DVD because there are no movie theaters near us... but they do run DVDs on the projector outside in the park in town on Saturday nights - bring a blanket to sit on... :)

loved em. cept for 3 but thats a different story

I'd be surprised if there were any outside of Toronto!!

Hey rainman,

Why not see it?? Spielberg produced it!! "More than meets the eye" :)

OH I am gonna see it. :D :D

but was wondering if its a guys movie or if theres some sappy sh!t in it that shed like. :o :o

My wife and I saw it and enjoyed it, but I'd call it "good but not great". My wife wasn't overly impressed, so it's no chick-flick. The special effects are pretty good though. We just saw the latest Die Hard movie, and we both liked it better than Transformers.

I saw it a couple weekends back. I'm not one of those who watched the cartoon as a kid, so it didn't have the nostalgia factor for me, but as a relative newcomer to the story (I've heard of them but had no deep familiarity with the mythos) I thought the movie was a pretty good introduction. Special effects were decent, though it's hard to take a Peterbilt that turns into a giant talking robot too seriously. The Camaro and Police car Transformers were more interesting to watch do their thing, as well as the helo Transformer in the opening scene; the human storyline seemed a bit cliched and shoehorned in to the overall plot, but did provide a few moments of genuine humor, and what's-her-name makes adequate eye candy. I think it'd probably work as a date movie, as long as you don't mind the risk of your SO overanalyzing something you might have cherished as a child. Now if they'd just make a live action version of 8th MS Team...

Die Hard!? Willis is just about as old as Stallone is now...did this movie have anything to do with the plot thus far in the series??

I thought the last Rocky movie was OK for the continuation of the story...that must have been tough to do though, continuing it after 16 years?? or was it 17??

There are subtle references to previous movies, and his daughter with the often-estranged wife from the earlier movies is a fairly big part of this one, but the main plot itself is not connected to any previous movie. Sort of a same-guy-new-adventure thing.

She better not. and i dont care about it being a date... just something to keep her entertained while i enjoy it!

i had a bunch of the transformers as a kid and watched the cartoon religiously....

im stoked. im gonna make her go this weekend (if i can:p ). though paying soo much for movie tickets is something that makes me cringe:mad:  .... Matinee maybe

Hell if its a first date - don't .. one of the ladies i work with basically say's if your taking me out talk to me - don't watch a film - -

and in this modern day - let her take you out for the night . beer, pizza and film is not going to break the bank ..

Hey baldy,

maybe they needed a change?? His daughter was only shown for like 2 seconds in the first movie and that was it! We didn't see or even hear about her in the next two...

What about his wife?? Played by the same woman?? I can't remember her name...who is the daughter role played by??

Wife was not in the movie and not even mentioned that I recall (she was played by Bonnie Bedelia in the first movie). Daughter played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
