Yes, their government lawyers have actually said that "current law" requires them to consider the "totality of the situation" which includes race, employment, accent, etc. That's scary and wrong to me - totally unconstitutional.

Because not carrying guns and tying shoelaces together doesn't protect a constitutionally protected class of people that aren't to be discriminated against. There are TONS of brown skinned, Mexican, accent-bearing people who speak limited english who are here legally or even citizens. If even one gets rounded up and detained and required to "prove" their citizenship, that's wrong. Don't think discriminatory roundups can't affect you just because you feel immune and safe due to your heritage. They can. If this becomes commonplace, then why not round up people who "look like" criminals? Why not round up everyone with a tatoo and a flat brimmed cap? Why not round up everyone who plays bridge in any locality where gambling is illegal? Why not round up everyone who seems nervous, based on the fact that they might have committed a crime? Where does it end?

THEY were being nice and trying to save civilians. But Hamas doesn't care about civilians. Civilians are cannon fodder and only good as shields because they make the Israeli's look bad when the civilians die. And you have bought hook line and sinker into their rhetoric. So instead of calling for Hamas to step down, you choose to call for Israel to step down. Ergo, Hamas wins. Why do you think that Hamas has steadfastly refused to return the hostages?
