Hi experts

I have a thermal printer for Point of Sales printing. The report I have checked, line or non characters, does not spill over the right or bottom edges and an extra blank page is printed.

I have similar experience with other laser printers too.

I use docmd.openrreport with acPreview. I do notice that there is another blank page in the preview

What to look out for to stop this. Hope you guys can share your experience.

you must adjust the page area to match the paper you are using.
widen the side, or lengthen the bottom

Thanks Ranman

I have tried the following except your LENGTHEN the BOTTOM but still no solution YET What do yo mean widen the side?

  1. Make usre there is no Page Break
  2. Drop using a subreport
  3. Reduce size of printout drastically to make sure it fits
  4. Check for no Force New Page
  5. Vary Margin from 0 to 0.1 inch
  6. Check Printer setting that can affect
  7. Change Printer Drivers

Could you post your database with the report and some sample data?

Make sure you haven't inadvertently set a "Force New Page" option on any section or header or footer.

Set the page's size and borders to match your printer.
If you create too narrow Top/Bottom borders you will have an extra page.

Thanks guys for the care.

I will recheck there is no hidden "Force New Page" option on any section or header or footer.

I have set all margins in the report as zero. Even setting with 0.1"" the extra page is display on preview. In spite of the extra page on display, when printing about 60% of the time there is no extra page.

Also the thermal POS printers will cut the page without a need for break or height setting unlike normal printer, it will immediately cut when all data is printer without wasting paper.

I think you need the printer to do the testing so idea of a sample may not work.

To repeat: funny though it is not all the time having extra page with these 3 thermal printers; it is intermittent; so i am just living with it.
