Hello to you all,

I finished designing my database. Everything is set to introduce it into the network of my company.
6 employees are going to use the programm from which 2 will be able to write/update it (not me/ not my pc) and the other 4 will be able to read-only.
How can I instruct my Access 2003 DB to allow certain employees to write and others to read-only? Is it possible to do this from my pc (i am not the network administrator, just another employee) or should the network administrator set this?

I hope you get my point and if not don't mind asking.

Thank you in advanced.

There is a security wizard which will walk you through creating groups and adding permissions etc.

You don't have to be the system administrator to do this.

Look at the Tools menu.

Be very careful though because once you start excluding people to areas that they may need it takes time to unpick the locks (so to speak).
