Christ you do that too, it's worse than I thought

I have never read one American, here on this forum, that has come anywhere near being as disrespectful about your country or your queen.

You haven't? Perhaps you haven't been looking very hard then. Here's an example, I didn't look too far for it, just a couple of posts away from your own.

Humph.... I think the Marshall plan was quite effective actually. After all, look at how well behaved you Brits have been since the 2nd World War . All we have to do is click our fingers and you come running

Come to think of it most of Europe do (apart from France of course, but what can you expect from people who eat snails - just joshing )

"All we have to do is click our fingers..." Now I know you chaps aren't exactly renowned for your sensitivity, but I'm reasonably confident even the Merkin mentality is strong enough to work out that a Brit would find that comment extremely offensive.

Well, America is well known for doing 3 out of those 4 things, but on checking and finding that the USA is the largest producer of pornographic material, I suppose its 4 out of 4 to the USA;)

Nice that you fit in the "norm" there Bod;) - of course if you had a gun and went round killing things you would be even more normal

I'm reasonably confident that you don't fully understand the context in which the comment was made. Not that I blame you at all, because that would mean you trawling through a huge number of pointless posts attacking the character of the American people.

So when you read a comment like this for example:

"Nice that you fit in the "norm" there Bod - of course if you had a gun and went round killing things you would be even more normal"

attempting to portray the traits of a "normal" American - you may come to the conclusion that my comment (restricted to the political realm) wasn't really that offensive at all.

I'll leave it to you to decide whether you want to look a little harder into finding more examples for yourself but I guarantee you there are more productive ways to spend your time ;)

While I do own a small arsenal, I do not work for the Postal Service

But, just as you obviously believe, I did shoot 3 toddlers, 5 boy scouts, and 6 little old ladies on the way to work this morning. I find it an invigorating way to start the day. Gets a little dangerous in all that cross-fire, though.

Thats normal for an American, or so we're led to believe.

But forget killing people - innocent animals (according to Ken) are more fun to kill then eat, or just leave dying of their injury to die in agony.

It seems supermarkets haven't reached the Georgia area yet:rolleyes:

As the quilty ones are found in the slaughter houses... :D

You don't believe everything you hear, do you?

I don't remember seeing Ken comment on any bloodlust he experienced:confused: Perhaps I missed that thread, I've been wrong before. The majority of us are sportsmen in the deepest sense...others have none, but that's the same everywhere. Rest assured, when I hunt, nothing is left in agony and anything I go to the woods and kill is many times better for you than the chemically laden, hormone injected, genetically altered garbage you can get an any grocery store. You call mad cow disease progress?

Bet you missed me last week;) :p

Of course ;)

However I fully understand your wish to take the week off in celebration of your crumbled empire. :p

Hmmmm... well as it happens I did read all the posts and yep I did see a bit of yank-bashing. I wasn't commenting on the validity or otherwise of those comments, merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the poster who claimed that 'Merkins were not slagging off Brits in the same way that Brits were slagging off 'Merkins.

Hey nomore,

My hypocrisy. How about you look at my post again before you start with your name calling. What I did say is: "I have never read one American, here on this forum, that has come anywhere near being as disrespectful about your country or your queen." I did not say that Americans haven't been disrespectful (usually only after they've had a hot poker stuck in them). My reference was way beyond this post and I was talking specifically to Rich. If you have read all of Rich's post (which I highly doubt) then you can start on Colin's and see the amounts and the depths of what they say and then tell me about my "hypocrisy."

And didn't you lot have to sit around a camp fire swearing at the flag and singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic, to the loud accompaniment of Sousa, as instructed by the government :p

You've read over 20k's posts, my god I'm impressed, have you learnt anything?

Come, come... my comment wasn't really that insulting. It's a fact that the Marshall Plan was designed to bully the European economy. Afford massive loans to European powers in the wake of the 2nd World war to secure the US dollar as the global currency. If anything I'm giving the argumentative Brits in this forum (you know who you are :p) more ammunition.

It's no slight on the British people that their (your?) political leader basically does whatever GWB tells him to do (though I don't quite understand why he is as popular as he is for doing so) but I do take great pleasure in jabbing Rich in the ribs with these kind of topics. He loves it really :p

He's not popular and hasn't been for years, Bush of course on the other hand got the majority vote for invading Iraq  :p

But you may like to stick your head in Big Ben at the stroke of noon instead(GMT that is or BST or whatever the hell time zone it is over there :p ) as a time-saving shortcut :D
