Coming from someone who's idea of 'on time' is three years later than everyone else playing, I'm not sure your request to keep up holds much merit.

I was "only" referring to your comments on one of my threads. Your doing a Rich thing and taking one thing that was said and appling it to whatever you feel like, which usually includes pointing out how bad we Americans are and all the awful things we do. What in the world does a general buildup of loathing of the years and our illegal, immoral, incomprehensible policies and blah, blah, blah, have to do with me commenting on you stretching my thread?

I wouldn't "pretend" to know enough about a country I was not raised in to make comments about everyone that lived there (except for the times that was following what you and Colin do). If you and Colin, (now add NoMore) to the list, are examples of what it would be like to visit or live there, then I would just have to say "no thanks." My best friend in Jr. High, Mom was from England. Was a kind lady, and I identified England with her, but now that I have met folks, from there, who seldom say anything but mean, sarcastic, belittling comments, it makes me hope that you three are an exception to the rule and not the rule.

That could be but it would be nice if they would enjoy having a civil conversation with fellow human beings sometime rather than always putting themselves in their high and lofty, "I'm Brit so I know all things, have the best information and can straight the worlds problems, if everyone would just listen to me" attitude. If they are so concerned about world peace then why don't they conduct themselves in a peaceful manner?

I'd send back my passport and ask for a refund if I were you - you're unlikely to get a better reception no matter where you pick for 'vacation'. Isn't that why your foreign office started recommending that holidaymakers pretend to be Canadian?

We are a melting pot of a nation, so our illiteracy numbers could be a little misleading with the amount of folks coming here that can't read or spell. I think it could be the Brits are the one's dragging us down.

AdviCe. I'm not being arrogant so much as realistic - you're not armed for this battle, since even if you were one of those pitifully few Yanks blessed with a genuine edumacashun, you'd still be conversing in a bastardisation of 'true' English. And of course we all know that 'Merkins don't like fighting wars with people equipped to fight back, so why not just move quietly along?

Can't remember any posts here claiming to know it all. What we /do/ know, however, is that we f*cked up in world domination theory. Just like 'Merka is doing now, really. The prime difference is of course that we can't rewrite history, whats done is done. Merka, on the other hand, is /still/ embroiled in such activity, so can't even rely on the excuse we use that its too late to do anything about it...
