Hey Guys,

I am so excited, we just had an employee meeting and we are getting Office 2010..... I am super excited to work with it.... I hope it's not too hard to convert my dbs over. - I just thought I'd share a little of my joy. :p

What version are you on now? 2003? That's going to be a learning curve! lol

That is cool. Glad to hear.

Yeah, 2003..... I am quick at picking stuff up, so I hope it's not too bad. I have been wanting this for so long. to use a phrase one of my friends use.... SQUEEE! It's a very female noise that sounds joyful... (Not to be confused with the sqee a pig makes. LOL. :p) I don't think a lot of my co-workers are going to like it, they don't like changes.... Any time any new program is introduced there's complaining that things are harder than they used to be.

That is cool. Glad to hear.

Thanks!

As long you get to skip 2007, that's definitely a good news. 2010 has made the UI somewhat more tolerable to work in than 2007's UI (witness the re-introduction of File menu) but you'll definitely love the new features like data macros (read: triggers and stored procedures for table. Righteous.)

We do get to skip 2007, data macros.... Hmmmm, I think I'll start reading up on changes now, so I can be prepared. I am psyched.

Bob Larson has a few 2010 tutorials on his website, if you haven't seen them. Don't know how much is there but you could check it out.

Here I thought I was doing good to finally get 2003 where I work!

Grats!

Thanks! I really didn't expect us to ever make the upgrade. It could still be a few months, but I am sure they will go by quickly, more than half the year is over already, and it seems like it just began.

Congrats!

We also upgraded to 2010 this month, three things I noticed right off the bat.
- Can't scroll through records with the mouse wheel.
- The Ribbon’s were a bit overwhelming.
- On some of the Monitor's w/Windows 7 and Office 2010 the forms seem a little washed out. But over all I have to give it 2 thumbs up.:)

You can if you want to. But you have to put your own code into the MouseWheel event (yep, now there's a MouseWheel event - has been since Access 2007).

Hi SOS,

I have seen some code from Allen Browne and others. I think it will be ok without it.:)

Of course if you have your own switchboard and hide the db window on startup you don't have to look at that ugly ribbon or try and navigate through one list of endless objects to find your way around quickly

LOL your right I had Word open the other day, I could not find the print button. So I had to resort to the old stand by Ctrl-P. I must be getting old.

I hope everyone you work with are as excited as you are over the upgrade, there are people who fear change so they try all sorts of stunts to delay the impact on themselves. Sadly this makes it harder on them to change rather then anyone else. Hopefully your exuberant attitude will be infectious and will quash the negatives.

I just got 2010 installed on my comp... The layout almost reminds me of the layout of SQL Management Studio which I have just begun to work with.
