At 9am I am the first on the left, and it takes me about an hour before I get to the 4th one in. I never quite make it all the way to the right.

What about you?

What about you?
For me, it depends on how many minutes after i wake up that my first appointment of the day is.

I remember one morning, a friend came visiting, it was his call that woke me up, I staggered to the gate to meet him.
i was both awake and asleep while walking to the gate.

My wife tells me I am fully evolved when my feet hit the floor - a morning person if you will. She herself is a mourning person until about 2 hours after waking - and it pisses her off aggravates her to no end that I am so chipper.

My wife is the early riser. Now that I have retired, I must admit to being very groggy in the morning. My eyes don't fully open until 9:30 or 10:00 AM. But I'm a night-owl. When I'm writing, I do my best work at night.

I am normally pretty much awake first thing in the morning. Unfortunately with a one year old grandchild that doesn't sleep through the night, I could be a bit groggy in the morning.

Procrastination

I have breakfast each morning at the nearest Breakfast nook, regardless with city or state I am in. How I get there is a mystery to me. I usually have to drive in braille.

When my wife and I were first married, she would start telling me lots of things the minute I was up. After the first few days I said Hon are you bleeding. She said no. I said if you ever start bleeding please call me right away, but if you’re not bleeding don’t talk to me until I have had at least two cups of coffee.

Procaffination, Never making any decisions before having first cup of coffee.

In the Navy I would put in for a wake-up call very early, go to the chow hall and have my Procaffination. By the time I got to my workstation I could handle anything they threw at me.

BTW: Friday (1/7/2022) to Monday I will be having my Procaffination in Orangeburg, SC Any AWF people there want to have Procaffination with me, give me a shout

Oh, Dick, I so COMPLETELY understand. For 28 1/2 years while I was a Navy contractor, I looked forward to the Senior Chief's Coffee Mess, partly subsidized by the civil service bosses who also developed a liking for that witch's brew. We had a Sr. Chief Stone who ran the best coffee we ever had. Of course, if you left the pot heating for TOO long, it condensed to a brew that you could use to remove barnacles.

Dick,
What was your rate in the Navy? I was an AK and retired in 2005 as an AKC. Did tours on the IKE, TR, Saipan, JFK and Enterprise.

Besides the Navy, I spent my Juinior year in Blackville, SC and still have family in Springfield. Small 🌎...

@Dick7Access that's great ...

I am not naturally very chipper in the morning, and definitely not given to getting up at 5 or any such thing!
However, I have to get up every morning to work anyway, so it's moot.....I try drinking coffee about 1/4 of the time, just to check if it's any better than last time, but frankly nothing is quite right until my first Monster Zero.
But I don't get up very early - just before 7 is my norm. (Although the few times I'm forced to get up at 5 for some reason, I feel surprisingly good. I wonder if the last couple hours actually makes it worse!)
But I agree........don't talk to me until at least 1 hour has passed and caffeine has percolated. My wife launches right into conversations about finances, vacations, and child rearing as soon as she opens her eyes while I pretend to listen as best as I can.

However, I'll be getting a CPAP machine (2nd try!) in a few weeks, and expect it to help me sleep better and feel better upon waking, if I can tolerate it.
If I can't, I'll be looking at Inspire chip. The sleep doctor clinic is interestingly conflicted on this topic. They'll give me a brochure (because they're a sleep clinic and sort of have to stock brochures about all the gadgets available), but with a visible tear in their eye. You can tell they want to be seen as modern, but hate the idea of actually losing the CPAP business. "Yes, inspire works great, but CPAP is our recommendation", they tell me.....with a straight face. Gotta love the healthcare BUSINESS !

I got the idea for the evolution steps on wakening from an old Kelloggs Cornflakes advert in the UK.

Here it is. It still brings a smile to my face. :)
