I read yesterday that Black Lives Matter started while under Obama and with a black attorney general. Does that mean that BLM felt they did not do enough to help their community?

I also read recently that in one African country, one third of the entire population were slaves at one point during their history.

Concerning helping their community. The recent looting and rioting (even if not directly caused by Black Lives Matter) has resulted in a lot of damage to minority communities.

For all their supposed caring, I have not heard of Black Lives Matter contributing any money to repairing the communities and businesses adversely affected by the looting and rioting. If Black Lives Matter is not making any contributions, then they are nothing by a sham organization collecting money for their own self-aggrandizement.

Have they even put out press releases or had high visiblity public speakers condemning the violence and calling for peace? All that I have heard is that hey have been collecting bail money for those arrested. If any of that bail money is being used to bail out those who have destroyed property or injured people, then Black Lives Matter is complicit in endorsing the violence.

I was curious about this too. I'd go farther and ask why, when the protest started turning into a riot, were they not front and center trying to help restore order? In our area, while some of the violence was spread out, there was a focal point of contact between protesters and police. Organizers should have gone to there to try and calm tensions down. I watched live on the news for quite a while and there was nobody doing that.

In the same way that white people should condemn acts of racism and Muslims should condemn acts of terrorism, blacks should condemn the riots that result from protests.

Ran across a link to bring the thread back into the question of: "Why Are People in Europe and the UK Protesting on Behalf of "Black Lives Matter"?" Pro-BLM Brits demand St. Michael image on royal order be changed; reminds of George Floyd's death. It seems incredible that the mass hysteria pandemic currently sweeping the US would infect the UK.

Quite inconceivable that objects, that are hundreds of years old (in the US and UK), have all of sudden have become "offensive" and "repulsive". Seems that the zealots are rabidly foaming at the mouth to cleanse Western culture with extreme prejudice.

Confirming article: Calls for redesign of royal honour over 'offensive' image

I think I read somewhere that BLM was an offshoot of some Marxist group from Europe. I'll see if I can find the reference.
I ran across this webpage: “We are Trained Marxists,” says BLM Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors.
“We are trained Marxists,” Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors said, during an interview with Real News Network, further adding to the parallels between her movement and the rise of Mao Zedong’s Marxist movement in China.
BLM doesn’t specifically note that they are Marxists on their website, but co-founder Patrisse Cullors clarifies her organization’s Marxist goals during an interview with Real News Network. In the video below Patrisse is very clear. “We are trained Marxists.”

Additional source: Video surfaces of Black Lives Matter founder saying, "We are trained Marxists"
Responding to the interviewer's concern that the BLM movement might not have enough of a "clear ideological structure," Cullors responded by saying that she and another co-founder "in particular" are dedicated to the ideology of Communist leader Karl Marx:
"We actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia in particular, we're trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super versed on ideological theories."

If I got the right Shaun King, on Tweeter he stated: "I support the communists & socialists standing against Trump and against bigotry & white supremacy. " (August 16, 2017)
