People do strange things in attempts to better there selves.
I have a laugh when I see television advertising where some company is promoting some plant which is incorporated in some sort of cream or gel which is supposed to transform a persons appearance back to when they were 10 years younger. Usually this is done with fancy graphics showing a simulation of skin absorbing little balls, though there is no proof offered to the properties of having the plant applied to the skin. Think back in the days similar products were sold from a old wagon and it used to be called snake oil sales.

The snake oil people are still around. My ministry takes me to state and country fairs. Is unbelievable what some people are selling, and some people will buy. A man that I ran into at two or three different fairs use to be an insurance executive. He got tired of the rat race and bought an RV and started going to fairs. He sells shames’ (?) You can buy the same thing in any auto parts store for $5.00. He gets two for $18.00 after putting a little show with spilled soda. The last fair for 18 days he made $34,000.00.
