American Foreign Policy - Explanation Please?

One other post, please:

On Jaunary 10, 2007, the then Pres. Bush addressed the nation and gave this chilling account as to what would happen to Iraq, its people and its neighbors if the US removed itself from Iraqi soil too early (2011) or just simply failed in its mission. Most all of what he said has or is coming true down to the mass killings. Here is the address if you would like a good and truthful read.

**first of all it is very obvious there are a lot more of those so-called 'dumb farmers' that are a lot smarter than you. Yes, it is a US Farmer who's long hours in the sun gives him or her a 'red-neck'. Guess you are a "Nuts and Honey ' person. Get rid of the farmers and that is what you will be eating.

Calm down Blade, I wasn’t bashing farmers or rednecks. I was simply trying to explain where the term came from. In fact, a lot of people in the south take it as a compliment when they are referred to as a redneck. That’s why its funny when someone tries to use it in a derogatory manner. Fyi – I’ve picked squash, shucked corn and hoed the garden, guess that makes me a redneck :)

**mind if I jump in?

Jumped in Feet First by the looks of it...

Although you still didn't explain why you are supporting the Rebels in Syria, yet opposing those in Iraq. At least you should be consistent in your approach...

Can't you try sunscreen, or a wide brimmed hat?

You have to take Bladerunner's rants in stride. He's far more interested in demonizing LIBERALS and the Obama administration than in rational discussion. In his mind, you're either a Teabagger or a traitor.

LOL KenHigg,,,,,,, if you cut hay, we can call you a farmer.. By the way you can take the fruits of your garden labor to the farmers market. They are getting popular everywhere. Fresh vegies.

Who said anything about supporting any rebel. Who do you support? The rebels in Iraq appear to be in Syria as well. a New country is forming. The Liberals took us completely out of Iraq and this is what happens and it was foretold. Now all we can do is sit there and watch. Or we could be like Pres. Clinton, put a bomb in a goat tent and say he did something. Oh, well. If you want to discuss this then do it with the idea that the US will not now and in the next two years come to the rescue of anybody. We are out of the world scene. As Obama stated, We are reducing our world-wide footprint. This will make people feel better about us. OH YEAH!

This term was long before sunscreen was thought of. A wide brim hat would work in some cases but in many other cases, it would get in the way thus the farmer would take it off.

everytime I hear Teabagger I clinch my teeth in rage. Talk about demonizing someone.
Pray tell me one thing the Obama administration has done right in you opinion. From now on think of a teabagger as someone who believe in individual liberty and freedom. The Liberal agenda is to destroy that and the sooner the people of the U.S wake up, the sooner we can get back to normal.

If you want to discuss the middle east problem then we will have to put both the conservative and liberal views out there. Pres. Bush started it and as of 2007 Iraq was doing great. The rebels had no stronghold, they had not means to take over anybodies country. I stated we should have left a regiment (Maybe 25,000) soldiers there on a base outside of Bagdad/. There we could back up up the government, steer it away from fatal errors (i.e. iraq pres. fired the sunni vice pres.the day after we left). The shiites and sunnis had no where to go except to the terrorist.
That is the conservative viewpoint.
Since I am not by a long shot a liberal, I think you should money up on this part of the conversation. Why did we leave? Why does the Liberal Left want use to be isolationist? Need I go on. oops, guess I am bashing them again.

So would you rather America have a heavy on the ground presence? Essentially being the World's Police....

I was in Europe in the 1960-70s. The country over there had recovered from much of the destruction of WWII. The American bases brought security and the U.S. Dollar which helped the local economies. We are still there. Do you think if we left, Russia would not take over? Yes, NATO is there but do you really think NATO alone could stand up to 1000 tanks crossing the borders along the eastern front. And Forget the UN. It is useless as tits on a boar hog.

The world wants us when there is a problem and they don't want us when everything is going good. You cannot have it both ways and you will see the product of that type adgenda in short order in the middle east.

Concerning the Middle east, I have already explained myself for a continued US presence there in Iraq. However, since our illustrious Pres. pulled us out in 2007 and declare it was a cornerstone of his administration success, I do not believe we should let any more Americans or NATO troops die there. I think you will find you will sleep a little bit less now that the terrorist have a whole country (maybe two) to train themselves and operate out of. Rem, you have a huge population of Muslims in your country. Sleeping cells that can destroy you from within. NO??????? what happens when they start bombing your cities, one at a time???? the economy goes where exactly??????? Could you live like the Israels have for the past 70 something years??????? Be careful what you ask for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

But things are not good now in Iraq and it seems they don't want us so your theory appears a little flawed...

I do not usually get involved or take sides between America and the UK, but something I heard on the News this morning in the UK has got me baffled as to what exactly is the American Foreign Policy, and the stance on Terrorism...

In Syria, American is openly supporting the Rebels who are fighting the Government, the rebels who are wanting Muslim rule, and supposedly are a faction of Al-Qaeda

And now heard on the news this morning that America is opposing the Muslim faction wanting to take over Iraq, who if the news is to be believed is the same faction that are rebels in Syria.....

WTF are you guys doing, and do you even know that the rest of the world is scratching it's head also wondering the same bloomin question....
Based on the recent disintegration of Iraq resulting from the "invasion" of ISIS, I suspect that Obama indirectly assisted in the growth of ISIS. Obama did this by sending support to so-called rebels in Syria as an attempt to overthrow Assad. Washington Post article: "CIA begins weapons delivery to Syrian rebels". Furthermore, Obama verbally "telegraphed" that Assad must be deposed. Had the US supported Assad, ISIS may not have been able to grow in Syria. Now the so-called rebels have expanded their control into Iraq.

PS: Of course the claim will be made that only the "good" rebels received the equipment, but that would be difficult to audit. Nevertheless, this would have detracted from Assad's capability to neutralize ISIS.

So what is unusual about that?

If the bad guys were climbing over your fence you would want the police in your yard, but if all was quiet you would want your yard to yourself.

As to your comment about not relying on NATO when did the US leave it?

Unfortunately it was he UK blindly following the US into an illegal war that caused this and increased the risk of radical fundamentalisation of Muslims and the emergence of Terrorist cells. If we had left Iraq and Afghanistan well alone, we would not be facing this threat in our own country.

Now the instigator of this for the UK Tony Blair is a middle east envoy... what a joke....

Not really. They did ask for support but he gave none, not even air support. Rem he is a Sunni Muslim by blood and the rebels are a mixture of sunni and shiite.

I also believe that there are some post on this thread that question as to why we have not done something to stop this.Or that is what it sounded like to me.

As it gets worse, I wonder who(country) will step up and take the lead or do we just let them take over the middle east and start WWIII.

Why do you do that? Yes the US is in the UN but as a group, so is Russia, China and now even Iran.Any action against a nation must be voted on and these others will veto everything. Why, because it is their self-interest to let it keep going.
