Taking a close picture of currency and asking about it on the forum is probably going to be futile. You could search for pictures of a given country's currency and see how to test it for legitimacy. But without the bank notes in question directly (physically) in front of us, they are just a few pretty pictures to us. To my UK forum friends: Is it normal for that image of the late Queen Elizabeth II supposed to have reversed lettering around the edges of the oval?

Yes, because the photo is of the back/reverse side of the note.

Worth more than what?
Their face value?
Why would they be?
What is so special about 8888?
Why must the £10 note have come from the bank in its current state?
I believe an indelible marker could be used to mark a note in that way.

What has all this got to do with Access?

If His Majesty's Secret Service knows you have these, they will pay you a visit.

I don't know.
Some people think they can just ask anything? :) We had someone the other day asking a general non access related query, in the queries section. :)

Why join a forum dedicated to Access and ask a question like that?
Surely there are more suitable forums?

It's called quads. If it was a double quads it would be very expensive.

Or search for Paper Money Value by Serial Numbers.

There are sites that you can enter your serial number and see how much that bill can be traded.

A numerophile collector's group? Some folks will speculate on anything these days.

Doc, it's not only about the numbers. What makes a coin or a bill worth more is being rare.
The following image is a 5 yen coin. It worth nothing and you can not use it to buy anything because the hole is not in the center. It's an error coin.

But this 5 yen coin was traded for 50,000 yen.

Oh, I've seen on the "Pawn Stars" TV series where someone brings in a mis-struck old USA coin that would have been legal tender for $50 but on the collector's market becomes worth literally thousands of dollars. So I know that anomalous coins and bills are worth a bunch. I'm not much of a collector. Since I've retired, I move around just enough to not collect dust. But only barely!

Not too sure what this has to do with Access forms. (n) See Watercooler

However, it looks just like one I printed last week. So get what you can for it.:D

The trouble with something rare, it never appears to apply to you. Now and then you hear some story about someone, who has just sold something that we've all had, or have one of, for a huge amount. You stick yours on eBay and after six months nobody will give you more than a couple of quid.

The only definite truth about these stories is that they should have the prefix "fairy".........and be in the Watercooler, or maybe underwater

The main problem with us is we go to ebay and not where we have to go.

We have a TV program here "Antiques". You take something to the studio or they come to your house and price your treasures. Many on-line shops are waiting for this program's broadcast to rush and purchase something that even the owner didn't know how precious it is. I'm sure some kind of this show is running in other countries too.

Watercooler alert.

What has most watercooler conversation got to do with the stuff going on in the cubicles? Nothing, but it draws people to the vending machines regardless.

@ KitaYama
Hey, it was just light-hearted banter from me. After all, the first post was probably an attempt at a windup anyway.

Personally I never use eBay, bunch of timewasters.

@Cotswold Don't take it seriously. I was just trying to be mean. ;)
sorry if you felt bad.

FYI, I moved this out of an Access forum yesterday afternoon (my time).
