Australia Apologises !!

Exactly the same sort of crap that white Americans sprout to native Indians and Negroes:rolleyes:

Or the English to the Scots and Welsh.

They were as meaningful as an apology from Hitler to those that suffered

At the end of WWII, Hitler was hardly in a position to apologize for anything.

More like the Scots and Welsh to the English

Comes under the general heading of:
The boot's on the other foot.

Or if you prefer:
Turnabout is fair play.

We'll talk about the Manx later. :D

Well if that's the case what's the reason for the Cornish wanting their independance and revival of the Cornish gobbledygook?

Not unlike the Isle of Dog's Declaration of Independence in the 1960's.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The Cornish local economy was based on their tin mines until the British manufactueres discovered they could buy tin on the world market for less than they could mine it in Cornwall. While Britian's economy as a whole has been doing well for the past 15-20 years, there are still depressed areas.

IMO I think most of these areas just want their fair slice of the pie. This is just one way to get Westminster to cough up some industrial development cash in their regions.

Don't be silly, as far as this government's concerned the West country ends at Bristol:rolleyes:

Then maybe they would do better on their own.
Could they do any worse?

Perhaps they could ask Prince Charles to be king.
Would be a good warm up for him.
Also, no problem with Camilla being queen.

Wish I had a nickel for every time this ww2 thing came up... :p

Having responded to mnemeth I then thought "who the hell is that directed at and why? " It just seemed to come out of nowhere.

BTW are you having trouble with the Forum? I keep losing contact, at first I thought it might be my system or ISP but all other sites are fine.

Hey Col you where on early this morning, I thought you were supposed to be retired. :)

The trouble with interesting topics is that they need people to read the posts and thing, too many here fall down on one or both of those requirements.
I'm thinking of applying to join your and rich's gang as reasonable comment is just not acceptable to certain people, might as well just criticise.

Brian

'read the posts and thing' ? What thing do we need to read?

me<- confused

:p
