Help needed urgently

Hey guys, I have a database exam at the end of the week and just read the scenario and im dreading it!!

The exam is based on a booking system for a train company. The train company is doing a 2 day promotional event where 6 trains will run (3 per day)

I will break the scenario to usefull steps.

1) I Need to create an introductory form where the user can enter their requirements (date, time, window/aisle and forward or backwards)

2)From the above form the user should go to another form that has a drop down box with all the available seats and fields to enter their personal data.

3) on the personal form their should be an option to cancel (no data to be stored) or to confirm where the data is stored and a customer id is given which consists of the first 3 letters of their last name and 4 random numbers.

Any help would be much appreciated from the whole class and also a link to the scenerio in case i didnt make myself clear

All that i have done is normalise the data sets into 3 tables(customes info, seat info and train info) and included validations(all working) the next task is to actually make the database.

This might sound harsh but you have a forum full of answers and this is for an exam you are presumable taking to end up with a qualification in this subject. So it would be I believe unethical for anyone here to "do your work for you" if you run into a specific problem I am sure many will be glad to help....

Absolutely NOT!!!

This forum is not a source of "cheat-sheets" wherefrom you can pass the information to the rest of your class to enable them to "pass" an examination for which they are not truly qualified.

However, as jsv2002 stated, if there are specific elements of Microsoft Access database design with which you are struggling, for which you have specific questions, I'm sure we would be glad to assist.

I can see your concerns however not being taught once on how to use databases we are at an unfair disadvantage. How could i create a form to display empty seats in a combo box? What type of query would i use if any?

If you (and/or other members of your class) are that far behind, then I would recommend that you spend a few hours reviewing the MicroSoft Online Training Site for MS Access, (or a site similar to it). On it you will find a step by step tutorial to the Basics of many aspects of MS Access Programming. Once you understand the Basics, you can proceed with your project, and determine what you need additional assistance with.
