Thanks. That worked. I did try that earlier so not sure why it didn't work then. I was linking by Primary Keys. Much Appeciated.

Unable to edit text field on a Subform

    Thanks for your reply. The recordsource is a query. It's SQL is as follows: SELECT tbl_lot.lot_id, tbl_lot_type.lot_type, tbl_lot.lot, tbl_lot.lot_comment, tbl_lot_status.lot_status, tbl_lot.number_wafers, tbl_user.my_username, tbl_lot.lot_started_timestamp FROM tbl_user INNER JOIN...

Unable to edit text field on a Subform

I have a main form that contains a tab control with 3 tabs. On each tab is a subform and there is a "comments" text field on each subform. On two of the subforms I can edit the contents of this text field ok. On one I can't. I've checked all the usual stuff about making sure AllowDeletions is...

    Question Problem opening .mdb file

I'll add it's the usual Microsoft making things worse, not better with newer revisions

    Question Problem opening .mdb file

Thanks CJ_London and Pat for your replies. I think I'll just leave as is as too much risk of things going wrong with other Office applications.

    Question Problem opening .mdb file

I'm having an issue where if I first open up Access then open an mdb file i see all the objects (tables etc). However, if I double-click on the same file I just get a blank form that doesn't show any objects. I thought it might be something to do with the bluetooth add-in (see image). However...

    Goodbye Access

Thanks for all your replies. Much appreciated. You've convinced me that the pros of Access far outweighs the cons wrt to switching to a completely different platform (I'm somewhat competent in PHP and MySQL, CSS3). I was just looking for a bit of debate and some opinions. Hello, not goodbye Acess

    BackEnd Database

I meant goodbye Access as far as using it to deploy serious applications go. I wanted to get some feedback and discussion about my points. I'm still going to take part here. Id like to be convinced that Access is the way to go as I like 99% of it. It's the 1% that drives me up the wall and...

    Goodbye Access

Yes, I know that and I'll be using PHP. Don't care too much about Browser differences as I'm developing for a specific niche that will use Chrome. Funny how the 2 replies I got said nothing about the deficiencies of Access. Anyone free to pitch in as it would be good to have a discussion about...

From A2010/A2013 to Office365 how to?

I'm with you on this one. That's why I'm dumping Access except for to knock ideas up quickly. Microsoft has just lost the plot.

    HELP - Access keeps closing

That used to happen to me until I discovered Debug > Compile in the code window. Even a simple bug can cause Access to hang up. So try running Debug > Compile to check for errors first.

    Goodbye Access

After programming Access VBA for a number of years (split database with mixture of runtime and non runtime and used for several years successfully by 2 manufacturing companies I worked for) I think it's time to say goodbye. There's no native Treeview control, accdb files don't open on 64bit, you...

    Treeview Problem

I've been trying to get the attached Treeview example to work for several days now without success. All the nodes expand and collapse just fine. The problem is that the node click event just won't fire. Only 5 events are visible for Treeview when viewed in both the Properties and the VBA window...
