Hi,

I have created a simple Till App for my friend's shop. He now wants to run 2 tills.

Any suggestions how to do this?

I can connect 2 monitors to the back of the existing PC and extend the desktop, does anyone foresee an issue with this? The DB is currently in accdb format.

It would be a waste to purchase another PC just to run another instance.

Thanks.

As I can't say, for sure, NO - THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE, I can say that to buy a second PC should not to be very expensive because a second hand PC is very good to run MS Office programs.

Just now I use my very old computer (more than 15 years old) and I have no problems in running any Office program under Windows XP

Cheers.

Thanks for your input, I know I can network another computer and share the DB however I was wondering if there was a better solution as although PCs are cheap I didn't really want to have to use the space in the shop to connect another up.

There really isn't a better solution. If you extend the desktop across 2 monitors and run 2 instances of your app, you still can't use them both at once because you only have one mouse pointer and one focus. ie, if till operator 2 clicks in their instance, till operator 1 won't be able to do anything in theirs. Worse still, their inputs will go to the wrong instance of the app.
Get a smaller PC or get some long cables so you can put it out of the way.
