hi everybody iam pleasure to join ur great forum and wish to learn from u

iam a programmer and i have new project "pharmacy" and must use barcode with access , my question is i have an idea to use barcode and ild like u to tell me if it correct or no

1- install barcode font in pc
2- create primary key type number
3- in the form binding textbox with that column and change txtbox.font= barcode font
4- use barcode scanner

is that right and what is all truble i might find?

You might want to format the field so you begin and end with asterisks. However barcode fonts are not your only option you can use Active-X and even draw the barcode on the report on print. Try this link.

I currently use barcode scanners for data entry into my database. done in forms and DAPs. All works great! you need to check the configuration in your scan gun. the scan guns are configurable for such items as, a preamble, suffix, auto carriage return, tab........
Check the scanners user/programmers manual.

Your'e right, I've been looking at getting one for awhile now for my college project. many are set up straight out of the box to input directly to Office applications.
