It's nice though that others get a chance to answer some of the questions posed for a change, instead of having Bob loitering in the "who's online" section watching who is posting a question, then diving in and answering it and getting everyone saying how clever he is - just to boost his already inflated ego.

Does that mean you'll become a productive and helpful member of the forum again? I know there are plenty who could use your expertise with Access related issues.

Colin, what is your problem with someone answering questions about Access on these forums?? From the point of view of the questioner what matters is the accuracy of the answer not who gave it

Yeah, instead of lurking around in the Who's Online section seeing who's lurking around?

BTW, the reason Bob spent time in the Who's Online section was to watch the patterns of suspected spammers. I've done it myself when I was trying to figure out if a new user was on the level.

It is much more efficient to answer questions from the "New Posts" section. If you hang out there instead of in Who's Online, you're likely to get to answer more questions.

However, I don't log in too much now - only for a few minutes a couple of times a day.

Not too many are still using Access97 but I am sure some people need help with grammar, spelling and the correct number of days in a month.

At least I may have a chance at answering now.

Well, a big thanks to everyone who gave out positive messages. I will miss this, but I'm leaving it all behind (including having myself removed as a Microsoft MVP) to spend more time with my family.

Jon sent me an email about this thread and asked if I would stop by to view it, so I did.

I will also pass along that Colin, is definitely mentally ill. He posted two comments to my Feedback section on my website and was a complete and utter dickhead about it. I deleted the stuff but maybe I should have posted them here so you would all have an idea about how sick and twisted he really is. He even went so far as to threaten me by saying he knows my address. Anyway, I won't miss him here at all.

I am giving up forums completely (ALL of them) and so this is my final goodbye. I will not be back again but if anyone wants to contact me (except the mentally ill Colin - there Colin, I DID answer your question - YOU ARE A MENTAL CASE!), you can do so through the feedback section of my website (in my signature).

OK. Well, I'm not a Blair-ite and as far as politics, I'm a "rational Libertarian" on the USA scale - I want to minimize laws. This is as opposed to "chaotic Libertarian" who wants almost NO laws.

Sadly, neither Democrats nor Republicans want much to do with me when I mention my preference. But Thomas Jefferson would agree with me, so that puts me in decent company.
