Crosses in access logic fields

Hi Folks

Is there a way to put a cross instead of a tick in an access logic field. We have just paid a lot of money at work for a scanner that only seems to recognize crosses.

I think I've lost the plot.
Why would you want to print and then scan something that you had filled in on a computer?

but anyway - where are you seeing the tick - on a form

if so turn the yes no into a text field and use something like

iif(mybool,"X"," ")

ie iif(mybool=true,"X"," ")

now you get an x (cross) not a tick
