Gotta love nature!!

Several. But most of the members around here anti-gun (and with many good reasons), so I try to avoid the subject :)

I think we should start a gun lovers thread.

For the three of us? :)

Yes, that is the only reason.!.! That is why I am going about it legeally. You have to pass background checks, test etc. to get it.

That is feel is the only way to have a firearm.

For a lot of people pepper spray is more effective for protection than is a lethal weapon.

The reason I say that is because given a situation where either; you may hesitate to kill someone (and nobody knows ahead of time, if you will or not), or the situations is not clearly life threatening. Most people would not hesitate to shoot a would be assailant with pepper spray and sort it out later.

If you are going to get a sidearm try shooting an automatic as well as a revolver. Most people shoot straighter with an auto than a revolver.

I think I agree on the pepper spray thing. I would rather my wife or daughter had that with them instead of a gun. It's some bad stuff...

Yes, I may also look into pepper spray, however I would not hesitate to hurt someone that was hurting my children. I can honestly say that.

I can also understand why alot of people are anti-gun. There are bad people with guns. I only wish the gun laws were more strict to own one, so that the wrong people can't 'legeally' get them.

I was also scared of them and against them, until I was taught how to properly shoot them. I was taught to shoot a 9 mm, 357 and a .22.

Anywho, this is about my assault from a squirelle. Heheh.....I swear he was still laughing at me this morning when I left out for work.

One can only laugh as such things!!

If the squirrel was that cute, you could bag him, have him stuffed and have him displayed on the mantle for year round viewing pleasure if you want!

Yes, but I am currently unarmed, and he is armed with nuts. Therefore he would win that battle, paws down. If I am not careful, I could wind up stuffed and displayed in on his mantle. HA!!

Ha - that was funny. Death by nuts. Now you are the one being 'cute'...

I mean, the size of those nuts were huge. :p Chestnuts are hard little suckers, and when they are pelted against your person, they hurt like hades.

I am glad the tree is almost bare. Therefore he can move on and stop attacking me. Now if my children get pelted, I am getting a slingshot, and it will be on like donky kong!!! ;)

So, if you hear a news of the weird about a woman going mad with slingshot in Columbia SC, that is me. .

My brother will be glad to send you the recipe for gumbo.

I'll let you know if he keeps up his gorilla warfare, because I will need it then.

My dad's family is from LA. My Grandfather was a cook for the Navy, so when he did cook his Cajiun dinners, we had to invite the entire neighborhood, because he didn't know how to cook small meals.

I did love his Jumblya!! My mouth waters just from thinking about it.

PS, when he cooked, I never asked what the meat was, because I probably didn't want to know. ;)

You'd make CNN :p

Hum, I wonder if people in the UK are allowed to have slingshots?

The squirrrels here do the same thing, but acorns don't really hurt.
I went squirrrel hunting one year (back in the 70's) and bagged a couple. Cooked them up and hated them. Never went squirrrel hunting again after that.
Something mostly overlooked here is the .32 auto/.32 mag. The guns are small in size, the bullets are of good construction (penetration vs. mushrooming ability) and they hardly have any kick. They are not as good on the "man stopper" list as say a 9MM, but far ahead of the .22's. The .32 mag is better than the auto, but you are limited to revolvers and slightly larger framed gun. The .32 Auto's are a blast to shoot, not as loud, hardly any recoil. If you can I would see if you can try some of them out, maybe even a .380 auto (kind of a weak 9MM). Some ranges will let you rent guns to try. Just a thought.

I can't beleive someone let a beginner shoot a 357. That'd be enough to scare me off...

Dang, did that give it away. :p

I will ask my shooting coach and see if she has one. I am sure she can help me out with this.

Must'a been a red neck, thought they'd get a laugh out of it. But recoil sensativity is a funny thing. I really enjoy shooting my 44 Mag with top end loads (redhawk), but can't stand my friends 45 Casul (freedom arms) with the western grip. Yet my T/C 45/70 Gov. dosn't bother me. My daughter likes the pellet guns on the other hand. A .22 dosn't bother her, she dosn't like the noise (or wearing muffs, not sure). Some are just overwhelmed by a .357, yet even high power rounds in a snub nose seems to be just above a .22 to me (not pretending to be macho or anything, just the way it is). On the other hand a friend of mine about half my weight can shoot a 30.06 all day, and 3 rounds has my shoulder reeling.
