LV is Entertainment - starting with the various huge casinos, lights, shows, gambling,
nightlife, pool parties and .........
LV is probably like no other city in the world.
We live about 20 min from strip and we love it here (retired but still have a desire to learn new programming - like Access 2007).The weather is mostly sunny (yes it gets very hot in July and August). Residents of Clark County (that includes a vast area of Southern Nevada) get many discounts to Buffet and shows, the street layout was well planned and we have LOTS of activities in this area. Been to many cities in USA and Europe (including several trips to the UK since my aunt used to live there) and considering all aspects - this is the area to retire to.
FYI: You were NOT really in LV (unless you also visited the Old Down town) - the Luxor (and most Strip hotels) are located in an area called Paradise but everybody calls it LV (including the Post Office)
Send me email if you have a return visit and I will buy you a drink. Take care...Jack
P.S. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but was playing in a Poker tournament Somewhat stressful but exciting - faced 1814 players and finished 11 (just one short of getting $ 5,000 +, oh well
