Hi all:

In a coupld of weeks, due to me getting an actual Access Developer position YIPPEEE!!! I probably won't be able to be as diligent, speedy, and proactive in eliminating spam and the spammers. I will try to check in with things as much as I can, but please be patient. Over the last 6 months, or so, I think we've made a good dent in the amount of spam that has shown up on the site and also in proactively catching spammers BEFORE they post. Hopefully that will help us out during this time that I'm not able to be "right there" most of the time.

This new position is going to be extremely busy for several months, so I'm not sure exactly how much time I'll be able to give to the forum, but I'll still be here as much as I can. I just wanted to let you all know what is going to happen and why you'll probably see some increase in spam on the board.

Congratulations Bob! And you've been very effective at keeping those *&^#*$#'s off the board.

I for one will miss your succinct and illustrative examples.

Especially those with Snagit (I love it too).

Don't stay away too long ..

Hope the new job works out to your liking.

Thanks guys! It should be an adventure, for sure. I am glad I finally have the chance to focus, for my employment, on the one area that I have such an interest in.

Congrats Bob on the new job and thank you for trying to get me in the right direction with my DB

Wish you all the best with your new job, Bob.
But who are we supposed to give the credits ( green dots) to when you're not around.
You certainly has been an asset to this forum ;)

Hey, I'm not going to be gone permanently, just won't be on quite as often (which lately has been about 20 hours a day :D )

Wishing you the Best in your new job. Thanks for all your help. Glad to note that you are not leaving the forum. Hope you do not have to relocate.

So who is going to correct me when i make a mistake???

...cuz we all know its gonna happen!

Ray - now that you're above 1,000 posts you aren't allowed to make mistakes :D anymore. Didn't you get the memo? ;)

Outstanding Bob. I'm very happy for you and it could not have happened to a nicer guy. We will miss your extensive, picture laden posts though. They're excellent. Stop by as often as you can.

Ditto Rainman plus whose going to illustrate my feeble explanations.

Congrats Bob I'm sure you will make it work out.

I'm sure I'll be around more than it sounds. But, since I've basically been keeping watch, seriously about 20 hours a day at times (trying to put the lid on the spammers) it may look like I'm not here much, when in fact I actually am. I am still going to be looking out for the spammers as much as I can, but I probably won't have as much time to actually answer questions as I have been over this past year. I have done over 5,000 posts in just this past year. I don't think I was near the 1,000 post mark until things really took off this year. Most of it I can attribute to the fact that my current job sucked and I would rather be doing the forums than doing my actual job.

I won't be able, nor would I want to, do the same in the new position. So, that's why there may not be many posts per day from me. But, I'll still work it, as it is fun to be here and help out. Plus I can't give up my hobby of trying to identify spammers before they post, banning them, and then watching them get the error message when they try to log in. It's a great feeling :).

Bob - big hug for youi with best wishies - hope the change is a sucess, and that you get pleasure fromyour new job ..
g:rolleyes:
