Joke (one for the Brits)

Well the pilgrims did sail from Plymouth so maybe Rich has an inbred link with the US style of humour.

It would seem that the Pilgrims lost it on the way over. Or maybe it was being met by a bunch of savages and then moving on inland to further meet the Indians:confused:

I didn't get it either - which autual points out what I tried to state sometimes humor does not travel well or even when it does it can bypass some of us-
am i affended not n the least - diversity is what makes the world interesting
not having a swipe at 1 nation or anohter

American has tradition, it has humor -it also like the UK has single minded people - not open to ideas or new culture,

Part of the problem with the States is its size, and their are a few hicks?? who think that the world does end at their state line let alone outside of the states - however this is not the view held by the majority - i have been over their - east coast and I would say by and large the reception I had was friendly and welcoming and when the outlaws come and visit us they have had the same treatment - yes their are differences - which is great , to go somewhere and it be the same as your home - god how boring

I came accross cinniebuns (spelt wrong) and god they are bril and the only place they have them here in the UK is in Windsor Legoland. the americans are now just gettng into our national dish (curry).lol. and this will be incorporated into their cultural pretty much the same as we did the same way chinnese food has - adepted , tweaked

what like Lucille Ball? she's a lunatic. Bob Hope and Chaplin? - great British comedians. Cary Grant? great British actor

odd that they are all on this forum then

I think that pretty much qualifies the integrity of the entire post :D :D

Just trying to be witty Gary... Please don't take it personal :) :)
that'll be "please don't take it personally"

I guess that would have sounded better - :o
of course:rolleyes: it's grammatically correct.

The way you said it - I picture you out on the front porch on a wooden chair, chewing tobacco and spitting it out, drinking home made moonshine - wife inside making blueberry pie, red gingham curtains at the window - a bit like the Waltons;)

Is that how Americans live in Georgia?

Col

Kenn - no offend taken
there are days when even I cannot understand what I've written and if you see some of my spelling ........

English is a weird langauge.their, there , rows, rose, rose (as in plant)

i found that if I've type it, I cannot see mistakes - however if soemone else has type it - stand out like a sore thumb - which is why at work when we do a press release- mail shot - we always pass it around - second set of eyes and thoughts - can reduce error , also as this post sems to also highlight , it can take out anything that could be misread

anyway

this has gone on long enough - something that started as a bit of entertainment has given people the soapbox to air their views, these negative views are not shared by the vast majority who would rather talk about what we have in common than what we don't

so lets chill, have a beer and celebrate.
G..

Not where I'm from, but I can't speak for the entire state - ;)

Actually, if you take away the tobacco and moonshine and it sounds like a pretty good gig - :)

Do you not get out much then?

I saw Georgia on TV the other night, it seems its all swamp and the swamp is about the size of France:eek:

When we have a "swamp", its a little muddy patch in a field:rolleyes:

I wouldn't consider my self a shut in - but I suppose I'm not as well traveled as I should / could be :)

The swamp thing is down in the southern part of the state - I think the only time most Georgians see some of it is when they (we :o ), go down I75 to Florida

I75 - thats an 'interstate'? a special one I suspect - only for slow Hardly riders?:p

Florida - destroyed over the weekend, I saw it on the news, by storms and a tornado. Sounds nice:rolleyes: Yet again we saw wooden houses destroyed - you really should try out bricks, they're much better you know
