HELP!!!!! I am using access 2007 and my backend DB has a lock on it while every user has said they are not in the front and back end db's. Is there a way to remove the .laccdb lock? I need to modify my backend and this is holding me up from making any design changes.

Thanks!

If all frontend db's and the backend are closed and the .laccdb file is still present, just delete it.

I had a simular problem and found the attached programme on this site and its simple to use. points to note 1. On the form Opening click the enable content button
2. Use brower and seach and locate your backend
3. Details of your pc will come up, plus any other user
Hope this identifies the user , some time you will have to get him to close down and re-boot to clear the lock.

Regards

This is strange. Do you get any error message (when you try to delete)?

"...every user has said...". Did you check that by your own eyes?

If you can't delete the lock file see if your network support people can delete it for you. As a last resort, the server can be rebooted and that will free up the lock on the .laccdb file so it can be deleted. Your support people are not going to want to reboot the server so be prepared for that.
