lock part of tables in Acc2003

I would like lock part of the tables in my database. If is posiable how to do it?

Are you locking all of them now? If so how are you doing it?

do you mean prevent editing certain fields

if so you should

a) not use/prevent your users from accessing the tables
b) provide tools to manipulate the data via forms and queries - then you effectively control what can be edited/changed by appropriate form design

My database open right now. And don't wont to lock whole DB. I would like to lock some DB's tables. And rest of tables and other database objects to leave open. Is it posiable and how to do it?

Have you looked into splitting your DB into 3 parts. 1 BE database with the tables to be locked - 1 with the unlocked tables and a FE DB with the rest of the DB stuff. Then you just need to link to the various tables from the FE DB

Lock? I wonder if we are using terms incorrectly here. Do you really mean "disallow users to write" to selected tables? If so, you really want to SECURE your database, not lock parts of it. Search this forum for "Securing a database" and "Workgroup Security." If that is not what you meant, sorry to confuse you.
