Good eve,

Wanted to make a lovely looking Report that includes tables.
The problem is that in access it is extremely limited as to what you can do. Is there a way to maximize the options and add edit tools.
I also noticed when you put a border on a table in a report it drops it lower with a distance from the field and creates a bigger table than necessary.

Please respond ASAP.

Quite a statement and not so, in my experience. In Report Design mode you can achieve many variants, until you settle on your final, preferred, design.

Define lovely!

You can add colours, pictures, graphs, different fonts.
You can show/hide borders (and resize them to cover one of your other comments)

All basic stuff but used properly is as good as many report writers out there

What is it you want to do that you don't think you can do in Access?

I was looking to make tables like in word/excel with the table themes you can select for nice tables. I hear what your saying, i think its just i am not used to microsoft 2003 style and all the property settings, i just like 2007/2010 which is lovely format to work. (matter of opinion).

Anyway thanks for your reply!

Have you thought about making a subform and show that in your report?
I made an invoice in forms and use a subform to enter data about the order.

Sure you have to make a view to use in your subform but it works fine.

regards, Aks

I have a report that expands sometimes to 2 or 3 pages. I am looking for a simple solution to create a nice border ( with rounded edges) around the pages of the report. Sometimes the report is short sometimes long. ( I tried a sub report in a report with only a background image: good for 1 page report). Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

A sub report is something else than a subform. A sub report is a report in a report.
A subform has its own query and outcomes and can be placed in a form.

I manage an application which uses a lot of subforms and sometimes the data of these forms are large and sometimes short. Because the subform holds its own data it can grow if necessary.

Have A nice weekend.

Thanks but I really want a report to print invoices and statements.

Ludo,

The problem is that the image unless sized to the full height of the report, the image will need to stretch to fit on the page distorting the rounded edges. The only place to put a background image in your case would be in the Report Property Section.
