I have a number of forms that call SQL Server procedures and then return a resulting recordset. I have a pop up form that explains to the user what is happening. If the process takes some time (and it may be only a few seconds) the heading in the pop up form shows "(Not Responding)" after my form caption.

The message is misleading because SQL Server is still doing its thing, the procedure finishes and Access continues running the code.

Is there a way of suppressing the message? I checked the archives but couldn't see any solutions.

Note that I don't need advice on speeding up the stored procedures, just if the message can be suppressed.

in addition, your screen may go "white" when you receive this message.
it means the process is taking long for access to do other events.
usually a long query.
