I thought these were pictures you owned at first. Ok... now I get the premise of this thread. I'll have to agree with Lyns that it's not a pleasant topic. In fact, I'd have to thank commandolomo and Kraj for the explanation of the term since it alerts me to the mentality of the thread.... and I think I'll step out now, thanks.

I think you guys are overreacting just a little bit. As SJ mentioned, it's a l337 term, not to be taken extremely. I think the definition given earlier was probably a little over-exagerative.

It is my understanding that the 'yoof of today' generally use "Owned" in light-hearted situations and scenarios - it is generally not used to denote abuse, assault or pain.

Not withstanding the Slug picture (which to be fair although meant as a joke is in bad taste) at the beginning of this thread, "being owned" is usually taken in good spirits without malice nor vehemence – suffice to say that the (Photoshopped) slug would beg to differ!

For the record, one does not condone cruelty to animals nor violence

I was kidding about the elite thing.

Maybe the Watering Hole's changed because we're headed down some very dark paths and the current government is leading us there, like the Pied Piper, with the big bands marching.

So everyone is bothered by it and you can feel it all around, but you have to maintain an up beat life in the real world or get swallowed. So people come here and rant.

It turns out to be a bit like pissing off a windy cliff; it all seems to come back in your face.

And nothings been solved.
