Password

Hi I want to be able to do the following so can someone help me please

When I click on a button on switch board command It opens a form however what i want the button to do is ask for a passord first so the data can be edited if no password entered then it will open in read only mode

Please describe in detail how this could be done.

An alternative idea ... assuming this database is being accessed by multiple users ... read the user's LAN ID and link this to a table that enables/disables the button?

It's a stand alone database for personal use not linked to the Internet just wondered if if what mentioned in original post can be done

Password form Help please

Could some one please help me by providing the code and steps on how i need to do the following.

I have a switchbodard with commands on it to open certian forms

what i want to do is the following.

when you click on open player stats to edit i want a form to pop up asking for a password, if the password is incorrect it opens the form in read only, if the password is correct it opens the form in full edit mode.
