Hi

I have a query which takes its criteria from a control on a SINGLE FORM and it works fine.

If I then edit the query so it takes the criteria from a SPLIT FORM it no longer works.

Does anyone know why this might be the case ?

If you look at a split form in design view, it may answer your question.
Its not a standard form and is very difficult to adapt for any purpose other than its intended use

You could try using an emulated split form instead. This overcomes most of the limitations of the standard split form.
See http://www.mendipdatasystems.co.uk/emulated-split-form/4594398119. Also in sample databases area of this site

Hmm,

I just created a split form based on a table and used the ID field as the criteria and the Builder, and I get the correct record without any issues?

Edit: Tried with a date control and that also works.?

I have this as my criteria (see attachment)

RRAR_ID_Query.PNG

That's the name of the form and that's the name of the control. The same approach works on a Single Form but not on a SPLIT form.

What can I tell you, it works, so there is something else going on here.?

I even changed the query to a group by and max as yours does and it still works?

Gasman, in your split form - what form do you have at the top - the Single Form or the Datasheet ?

Single.

Just changed it to the data sheet at the top and no difference.
Tried on left and right, same result.?
