Your argument is clear, it's okay to have a two tiered system of justice, as long as your guy is on the top tier.
Only after he was caught, that's not how the law works. He had unauthorised classified documents. You fail to see that Biden cooperated
Because I'm rightNothing more to be said. We don't agree.
Not really. The SS is there to protect the ex- president, citizen trump, only. The do not provide security for Mar-a-Lago. They did not even have a visitors log of who came and went from there. @20 secret service agents testified at the grand jury that indicted trump. SS agents also do not rat out their protected subjects as it would jeopardize the trust between them and their subjects. Unless of course they are in a grand jury.Way more secure with secret service at the location, Biden as a senator had no such protection.
Very easy for a few documents to get mixed in with other papers and this has happened many times in the past. It's a little more difficult to explain away dozens and dozens of boxes of classified docs. And the number of classified documents matter how? Please explain.
Didn't know Pence took classified documents.I'm gonna go out on a limb, but I doubt that pence is one of @jpl458 's guys.
Probably a fox news thing.Didn't know Pence took classified documents.
The booking poster and those gold sneakers would be awesome in a man cave.
Look up the term "unbridgable Gulf". We don't disagree because you are right, that is completely illogical.Because I'm right![]()
Respectfully, we do not agree. You keep arguing that "he gave them back so it doesn't count". That isn't the way this works. TAKING the documents was the crime and therein lies the difference between the two situations. Biden commited a crime by taking the documents. Trump did not. As the President, he had full authority to take the documents and declassify them - which he says he did. It is of course, imperative that you call Trump a liar but there are no rules except those set by the President himself for how a document gets declassified. For some reason, you refuse to understand this. I guess it is because if you accept this one fact, your whole position falls apart so cognitive dissonance prevents it.
A is an actual crime. B is not a crime. you may not like the person who did B but that still doesn't make it a crime. There are no criminal penalties with the presidential records act. Trump was VISITED IN PERSON and the documents he had evaluated. The library took what they wanted. The rest were under discussion. Trump wasn't refusing to relinquish them. There was no reason short of grand-standing in front of the election to raid Trump's home by dozens of men with rifles. If you can't understand the facts regarding what is a crime and what is not, then there is no hope. You will stick to your idiotic defense that "he gave the diamond necklace back" so there was no crime committed. Once you accept that what Biden did was an actual crime, only then is further discussion possible.

Not the way it works Pat.As the President, he had full authority to take the documents and declassify them - which he says he did.
Yes there are Pat.there are no rules except those set by the President himself for how a document gets declassified.
because it's incorrect. For some reason, you refuse to understand this.
Look in the mirror Pat.If you can't understand the facts regarding what is a crime and what is not
The Presidential Records Act (PRA) requires the President to separate personal documents from Presidential records before leaving office. 44 U.S.C. 2203(b). The PRA makes clear that, upon the conclusion of the President’s term in office, NARA assumes responsibility for the custody, control, preservation of, and access to the records of a President. 44 U.S.C. 2203(g)(1). The PRA makes the legal status of Presidential records clear and unambiguous, providing that the United States reserves and retains “complete ownership, possession, and control of Presidential records.” 44 U.S.C. 2202. There is no history, practice, or provision in law for presidents to take official records with them when they leave office to sort through, such as for a two-year period as described in some reports. If a former President or Vice President finds Presidential records among personal materials, he or she is expected to contact NARA in a timely manner to secure the transfer of those Presidential records to NARA.
What about if you throw away an $80,000 diamond, like recently claimed by a certain Biden? So @moke123 If I steal a diamond necklace but give it back when caught, it doesn't count.
But presidents have the distinct ability (versus senators) to mark any and all things secret classified - Biden did not. And I think storing documents at your secure estate is much better than boxes of them in your GARAGE, where we all know rodents, bugs, burglaries are commonTrump was not allowed to keep the documents that were taken to Florida. Senators and Vice President do see and hold classified documents. They found 10 documents at Bidens home, Trump had boxes and boxes of documents, some stored in a bathroom. I repeat,if Donald had honored the initial request from archives it would have been over, That's not my assertion, but that of highly respected lawyers, both left and right.
