I think I finally fell asleep around 4 am and remember faintly hearing the last of my guests tiptoe past me toward the door. It was really fun evening, as it always is with these friends of almost a lifetime.

I'm sure there aren't many fans of Karaoke here, but that's what we like to do when we get together. There are a lot of singers in my group. I think I knew it was about time for bed when I attempted Cry Baby by Janis Joplin. I nearly blew the speakers because all I knew how to do in that song was scream... lol. Everyone else was rolling in laughter.... and then I decided that maybe Piece of My Heart was a better choice. :D

Anyway, like I said, wonderful time. Hated to go to work today, but now we've a weekend so that's not too bad.

Let's all have a great year, shall we?

LOL. Honestly, it's normally used when being sarcastic.
Like, when you tell your husband you have to cancel your plans to see that chick flick he promised to take you to, and he says, "Aw shucks, I really wanted to see that."
 
I assume a chick flick is one full of girls:confused::cool:
 
A "chick flick" is a North American expression. It is used to describe a movie which is designed for the female movie goer.
Lots of relationship stuff, no sex (only the suggestion thereof), no car chases or gunfire and a male lead who is so sensitive he's downright wimpy.

The ultimate chick flick is "An Affair To Remember" starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. It had all of the above PLUS SHE DIES. A great chick flick requires at least 2 boxes of tissues for your partner and two bags of popcorn and a crossword for you.

In the UK, I reckon it would be a porn film. Although, we don't use the term "chick" to describe girls.

The popcorn and crossword are for the male of the couple. After about 20 minutes of this sort of movie he's generally bored silly.

A "chick flick" is not porno. Most women hate porno.

I just spent the last 15 minutes reading this little pissing contest.

I had hoped for improvement with age but I guess I was being a little optimistic.

Anyway I agree with Tess, in real life I bet most of you would get along just fine.
